For those who want to see what the good life is like but have just paid the latest power bill, this will more than satiate, its radiating warmth as good as a panel heater, and far better for your heart. There is a core of berryfruit and a powdering of pepper, the palate not indecently concentrated or overpowering, but dignified, authentic and fulsome. Region / Country: Hawkes Bay, New Zealand Varietal: Shiraz Volume: 750ml
Beautiful bright colour, deep but glowing, positively abloom with promise. Very French, smells of board-rooms; you know, oak tables, tobacco, ashtrays and serious matters. The pink blinds of the Financial Times snap shut and someone questions your validity. No fraud here, Maude, just honest, authentic meaty, darkly-berried Merlot magic. The perfectly balanced tannic presence is slightly grainy, like the reception on the Phillips K9 you resurrected to watch the Rugby World Cup and which still sits in a corner of the lounge, fondly. Region / Country: Hawkes Bay, New Zealand Varietal: Merlot Food Match: Game and Meat
Rich and bold the 2014 ?Sun-Dried? Malbec is concentrated with a succulent silky texture. Fragrant Black Doris plums, cinnamon and mocha rest on a bed of supportive oak. The ?Sun-Dried? Malbec is commonly referred to Malbec on steroids.
Very dark in colour, it has white and black pepper in the bouquet. Plum, sweet berry, toast, and oak form a multi layered palate.

Cassis, black fruits, new French oak, toast and leather contribute to this elegant rich Ohiti Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon more than any other red variety mirrors where it is grown and the growing season. ABV: 14%
Brookfields 'Gold Label' Cabernet/ Merlot doesn't go chasing awards, but awards and accolades just keep coming with every vintage. Brookfields has only exhibited twice the 'Gold Label' in National Wine Shows in the last seventeen years, both times winning a Gold Medal. The Cabernet Sauvignon fruit was grown in the Ohiti Valley which is north of Roys Hill, adjacent the Ngaruroro River. The Merlot comes from the Tuki Tuki valley, and once again it is a northerly facing aspect. True 'Quality' is when a reputation has been earned by consistant high standards of workmanship, repsected by others in the same field for many years. The 2004 Gold label Cabernet Merlot is a 'Grande Marque' in wine terms. It is the result of thirty years of craftsmanship by Peter. Rich in colour the palate is supercharged with cassis, blackberry, and leather, all finely tuned by eighteen months in new French oak barriques. Marques survive the test of time, so will the 2004 Brookfields Reserve Gold Label Cabernet/ Merlot.
Grown in Carrick's Bannockburn vineyard the wine was matured for 11 months in new (30%) and seasoned French oak Barriques. The bouquet offers layers of cherry, mocha and nutmeg aromas supported by understated oak. The succulent palate is packed with rich fruit flavours and spice nuances enhanced by a silky mouthfeel and fine lingering finish. Matured in French oak barrique for 8 months, with 9%
new oak, the Unravelled is light-bodied and finely
structured. It has lovely flow, with cherry and black plum notes, as well as some subtle spice. Enjoy this as a day to day dinner wine.
It is magnificently composed and delightfully expressed, showing dark cherry, plum, vanilla, warm spice and olive characters with a touch of floral lift. Some savoury floral perfumes add to the interest. Medium-full bodied, the palate has a rich and firm core of sweet fruit with packed, deep and dense flavours of dark-red and black cherries and berries intermingling with thyme herbs, some whole bunch stalk perfumes and a hint of reduction. The palate is concentrated and beautifully rounded, delivering plush mouthfeel and succulent fruit intensity, leading to a persistent polished finish.
Youthfully expressed and delightfully lifted, the wine shows sweet raspberry, cherry, floral, subtle spice and almond characters. The palate delivers lovely weight and roundness together with fine texture and bright acidity, finishing long and refreshing.
This full-bodied, complex, barrique-fermented Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is true to the Church Road style. Crafted from ripe Hawke's Bay grapes using traditional French winemaking techniques, this premium wine marries ripe, concentrated fruit flavours with spicy oak complexities.
