Delivery Options at Big Barrel Online
Big Barrel Online offers a quick and reliable delivery service.
When you checkout you will be asked to select your delivery address. This determines your freight charges automatically. Freight charges for mainland North Island and mainland South Island are as below:-
$9: Covers a case of 12 bottles or up to 18KG
$7: Covers between 3-7 bottles or up to 10KG
$5: Covers between 1-2 bottles or up to 5KG
Freight will be charged as per the number of bottles in any order in Spirits and Wine Categories and it will be charged by weight for Beer and RTD's. Some items may be charged differently at our discretion. We reserve the right to review the freight charges from time to time. Rural areas may attract additional freight charges not charged at checkout. If we find a difference the freight charged by website versus actual freight by NZ Courier which may happen due to Rural Addresses and different weights and dimensions of Beers and RTDs. In such case, we reserve the right to contact the customer for payment for additional freight charges after working out the difference in Freight paid less actual freight charged by our Partner NZ Couriers. This needed to be paid before we send your order. IF customer doesn't want to pay additional freight then we reserve the right to cancel the order. In such a situation, we will refund the order in full as long as the order is not dispatched.
Covid-19 Delay Times:
Due to Covid-19, we have been flooded with orders, to cope with demand, we are trying our level best to get orders packed and sent asap but currently, it may take between 5-10 working days to get your orders. In some cases, simple clean orders of 6pk Wines or mainstream spirits that are easy to pick may get out faster them orders with a wide range of products.
For Napier and Hastings City areas, a flat fee of $5 per 12 bottles or up to 18KG will be charged. Rural areas may attract additional freight charges. Beer & RTDs orders may attract additional freight charge due their complex weights & dimensions. Such orders that are mix of beers and RTDs, we will get in touch with freight difference for you to pay for additional freight charges as provided by NZ Couriers website to us. This needed to be paid before we send your order. IF customer don't want to pay additional freight then we reserve the right to cancel order. In such a situation, we will refund the order in full as long as the order is not dispatched.
We ship our orders using NZ Couriers, and as such, we are held to what NZ Couriers determines as a rural address. Our website is currently not set up to calculate rural delivery costs, so deliveries to rural addresses will incur extra delivery costs. This needed to be paid before we send your order. IF the customer doesn't want to pay additional freight then we reserve the right to cancel the order. In such a situation, we will refund the order in full as long as the order is not dispatched.
However during Covid-19, as a temp measure, we request you to your rural delivery be additional half of what your standard freight calculated by the website. e.g if your current freight comes up $14 when you go to checkout then your rural delivery will be additional $7.
To pay for that you need to search "Freight" where your search for products (on top of the page). This will give you options that suits you to add to the cart. You can increase the quantity to get close to your total. if you find it difficult then please call us.
We do offer bulk delivery options. Please contact us for your bulk requirements and one of our sales representatives will be more than happy to assist.
Delivery Time Frames:
We endeavor to have all orders placed during working days delivered within 2-7 working days. After hours, weekends, or orders for rural areas may take up to 3-9 working days. Saturday deliveries can be arranged by contacting us via email or phone.
Punctuality of Service:
Please note that although we endeavor to provide fast and efficient service we are unable to guarantee the punctuality of service provided by our delivery agents, particularly during spells of difficult weather conditions, or for other reasons beyond our control. If your shipment is delivered unacceptably late after having been collected from us on time by our agent then we may try to secure a refund where appropriate or possible.
We take pride in packing your orders to ensure that it arrives in perfect condition. Unfortunately, there are times when parcel incur damage while in transit. If a parcel shows clear signs of damage or leakage at the time of delivery we request that you refuse the parcel. Just tell the courier to returns the goods back to the sender. In that case, we will re-send the same order within 24hrs of confirmation from the courier about the damage.
Authority to Leave:
Unfortunately, because all our parcels contain alcohol, we cannot give the couriers 'Authority to Leave'. We have asked that the courier company leaves a 'Card to Call' if no one is home - this leaves the customer free to rearrange a redelivery or choose to pick up their parcel from the nearest NZ Courier depot.
Out of Stock Items:
There may be occasional out of stock issues from our suppliers due to various reasons out of ours or our supplier's control. In such cases, we will contact you within 48 hours of placing the order except for weekends where it may take up to 48hrs. We will either refund you those items in full or substitute them with something else upon your approval.
