The GRAPPA LUIGI Francoli BARRELS OF LIMOUSIN is from the pomace of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto grapes, aged for 36 months in oak barrels.
Next blend with a limited amount of Grappa Moscato and refinement of the final 8 months in barrels of Limousin oak.
Colour: intense golden yellow, bright and clear.
Bouquet: clean, fragrant with hints of toasted hazelnut, vanilla, raisins and candied fruit.
Palate: soft and smooth where the alcohol and the sweet notes, pleasantly astringent properties of wood are in perfect balance with one another. The final reserve delicate nuances of hazelnut and tropical fruit.
Nice golden amber color.
Interesting nose with hazelnut and almond notes along with grape skins and subtle floral aromas.
On the palate the oak shows up first with a big spicy note. The oak then starts to fade and there is a rich and sweet grape character that turn floral and aromatic as it leads to the finish.
This grappa is leaning towards a sweet style and the there is some nice cinnamon and spicy oak character on the front of the palate.
